Jennifer A. Patterson, CFP® (US), CIMC, CIMA®, TEP helps overseas Americans go beyond financial independence to a cross-border life of their design.

American by birth, Jennifer has been married to her British/Bermudian husband and has lived abroad for over 20 years. She is very familiar with the life and technical financial planning challenges for multinational families as her children have the benefit and challenges of being citizens of the United States, Bermuda and Canada.

Jennifer is the Founder and Managing Director of Patterson Partners Ltd., an independent wealth management firm with offices in Hamilton, Bermuda and Lake Tahoe, Nevada that specializes in providing cross border tax, wealth transfer, philanthropic and investment planning solutions for internationally-mobile Americans, dual nationals of the USA and other countries, their families and businesses. She is also the founder of Crossborder Living, an online community for internationally-mobile Americans and those who want to be.

As a US CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, a Certified Investment Management Analyst and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, Jennifer has put her skills to work in developing strategies for her own multinational family as well as for her expatriate and multinational family clients, contributing to what is being recognized globally as an “emerging” specialty within the financial planning profession.

She has authored many articles which have been published internationally and spoken at many industry events on the subject of cross border financial planning. She is the author of the first book written on cross-border personal financial planning in a global context, When Families Cross Borders: A Guide for Internationally Mobile People. In addition, she authored the finance chapter of Living Your Best Life Abroad by Jeanne Heinzer (2009).
